Located in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley, Hamilton is the county seat for Ravalli County. Hamilton is home to a population of about 4,400. The area was named for the Bitteroot Flower which is also the Montana State Flower. Known as the "Banana Belt" of Montana, Hamilton sees a much milder climate than most of the remaining state. Hamilton has lots to offer. It has a historical main street just off of Hwy 93 where you can find trendy restaurants, unique shops, service providers and other fine businesses.
Outdoor enthusiasts will love all the fishing, boating, biking, hiking and skiing. There is also lots of wildlife to be viewed all year long.
People come to the Hamilton area for its four seasons, outdoor activities and small town charm. The area has many annual events that it celebrates: Daly Days (in honor of founder Marcus Daly), Micro-brew Festival, Apple Day, Bitterroot Day and the Ravalli County Fair.
